In 1985, Lyn, alongside partner Barbara Ferguson, acquired the Angus and Robertson Bookshop in Orange. The shop later transformed into The Hardback Café—a fitting title for Lyn’s book—with Ash Brown, now a local real estate agent, serving as both bookseller and barista.

Lyn and Ash expanded their venture, opening locations in Cowra, Parkes, Bathurst, Windsor, and the Batemans Bay area. During the Covid pandemic, Lyn began chronicling the bizarre and fascinating events that occurred in these establishments. Many of these incidents feature well-known shops and personalities in Orange!
